Croatan Earth First! hosted a great workshop and performance Thursday evening in Chapel Hill, NC at a really awesome alternative bookstore called Internationalist Books. I was really impressed with their organization for this event, bringing out lots of different folks from around the area.

Before the performance I gave a presentation about Shale-Gas Resistance and horizontal organizing in the Marcellus Region. It was great to have this chance to cross-pollinate movements with Croatan Earth First! North Carolina is facing the same threat of Frack exploitation and they’re actively mobilizing to stop it before it gets a foothold.

Thanks also to WXYC http://www.wxyc.org/ radio for hosting me on this mornings broadcast. I played a few songs and was able to chat a bit about fracking and environmental justice.

TEETH, BONES & KNIVES! Official release coming soon! I’ve been working on this album for 2 years and finally, with the help of many, it’s complete! I’m going on tour, leaving next week in fact, and will be having this album available and what not. Big release party in my hometown when I get back from this tour.

I’m excited to announce that I’m going on tour with folk musician Stefan Fink & friends this October. We’re heading all the way down south to Florida, across to New Orleans, and up the Mississippi river toward Minnesota. This is going to be fun.

So glad it’s summer. Really enjoying being at home with cat and workin’ in the garden. Going through big transitions here at my collective house and with the distro, getting prepared for a bit of travel and wrapping up a lot of loose ends. It’s exciting too, getting ready to leave for a bit–meeting new people and seeing new places. I’m doing an artists residency on a botanical sanctuary to finish up my new album!

Alas! it’s so hard to leave. Especially my sweet cat Reuben who’s sleeping right now by the couch on the window. He’ll understand. The benefit of living with your friends is that you can always count on having somebody around to feed you, pet you, and change the litter box :)

Pencils, Paper & Scissors ~  Re-release!

I’ve got a couple shows coming up, but what I’m most excited about right now is re-releasing my first ever album this Spring! The original songs are being remastered and I’ve added a couple more to the mix. I’m also still working on a new album (2 years in the works!) to follow it up! Keep in touch. My Tour out to the NW was great. All the shows were awesome. I met great people and played with some great bands. Although there’s such amazing things happening there with music, I’m glad to be home around my friends, and my awesome cat Rueben. (see picture on left)
