Rye ‘n Clover / Stefan Fink TOUR 2011Workshops:
Shale Gas Resistance – Lessons and Stories from the Marcellus Region
A natural gas boom fracking the US for the past decade has brought energy giants like Haliburton to my home in the Finger Lakes Region. Over the past few years a vibrant resistance movement has emerged to challenge the gas industry and raise radical questions about… well, everything.
This workshop presents engaging and relevant stories about radical rural organizing as well as a resistance mission briefing—tactical reflections, industry overview, past/other movement successes, reflections, and of course warrior skills for bringing down exploitative industry everywhere!
Getting Shit Done – self-organizing for the ambitious rebel
Good planning = Effective Action. Lot’s of radicals & anarchists are committed to the idea of do it yourself, and take on ambitious projects, one after the other. Often we struggle with following through with our vision, leading to burnout and dissatisfaction. This workshop will give you practical tools you can start using now, to help you plan & take action. I’ve been studying self-organizing, translating this corporate culture back to the people. That’s you, so get with it!

Environmental Justice Organizing – Movement strategies for radical change
Environmentalism has been recycled, or so they say… In this workshop, we’ll introduce the concept of environmental justice. Defense of the environment is also self defense, as we are part of the environment, not separate. Solidarity not charity we might say. Environmental justice is also about decolonization, and understanding the intricate relationship between environmental disaster and oppression. To organize a movement toward environmental justice is to work toward radical change. We’ll discuss organizing tools and strategies coming from the front lines.
