About

“From the Finger lakes region in Central NY, Rye ‘n Clover isn’t just your average cover crop. This is Folk punk banjo songs. He’s singin’ for the damn love of music and the passion of livin’ free. Singin’ for the trees and the water and the mountains.”, We gotta win!”

“A fixture of the Ithaca radical community, his masterful song writing and furious banjo playing are bared to the listener in these sparse arrangements. This is the kind of album you can listen to over and over.”

I hope you are well. How have things been going for you? Judging by the info on your website, it appears as though you have been traveling around and enjoying life. Lucy and I are currently living in Albuquerque, NM. We are working hard and saving money to buy land in order to start a homesteading project. It has been difficult to get used to NM, as it is so vastly different than upstate NY-lots of dust and bright sun. The nice thing about ABQ is the fact that we were able to start gardening much earlier in the year. The biking is pretty good as well.

    Take care

Listening to your re-release! :D Your music is very inspirational and moving, Ryan. I’ve missed listening to it!

So tell us, what was it like doing an artist’s residency?? I’d love to hear more about that, what you did at the botanical sanctuary and how that supported your music making.

    Much peace,
    Sam

    Hi there,

My name is Cody, I am from Arkansas and I really like your sound. I am currently learning to play banjo clawhammer style. I was wondering if there is a place where I can get some tabs of your fancy banjo playin’. I really like your sound with the nylon strings, I hear it is supposed to be kinda the sound the old time gut strings had. Me and my partner are going to be starting a organic farm/homestead in south-western Missiouri. And after we get it going and we have the time I would love to come to one of your shows, so I will try to keep an eye out for a show near me. Thanks for the inspiration and your time.
